When we consider how things are made, we may have no idea how complex the process is. One is the EPP-Lauf. Have you heard of EPP? It is short for Expanded Polypropylene — and it is one type of foam that is ubiquitous across multiple industries due to its combination of being lightweight and strong.
At EPP’s Making EPP begins with its raw materials — polypropylene beads. Those beads are being steamed and expanding, and that’s opening up some air pockets like this. This is what gives EPP its lightness and softness. The puffed grains are then worked with special machines into the required shape. Once they have been formed, the EPP products are cooled and cut to desired dimensions. It's also amazing to think that a small amount of beads can be changed into a useful product either!
Here’s a closer look at the EPP production line at Guiju. Our factory has advanced machines to ensure us produce EPP Products carefully and fastly. We can manufacture anything from tiny packaging to large car parts, but whatever we make is what the customer wants. Our workers closely examine every step of that process to ensure a high-quality product.
Walking through the EPP production line is a journey through the manufacturing process. Each machine performs a unique role in helping turn raw materials into finished goods. From heating and puffing the beads to cutting and final quality inspection, each step is crucial. It’s awe-inspiring to see how each of the machines functions and the way in which our workers, who are very experienced in how they do their jobs, handle the machines so tenderly.
Producing EPP products is a craft that requires equal parts science and ability. Our designers strive to create new and useful designs that use EPP efficiently. They consider weight, strength, and how well the product will resist impacts. The business of EPP is finding a balance between form and function and our people at Guiju are good at it.
EPP prodcuts can be applied in various fields of industry for many good reasons. One big reason is it is extremely light, and that is tremendous for things like cars and airplanes. EPP is extremely soft, and excellent for packing protection and insulation. And EPP can be recycled 100-percent, which is great for our planet. Our customers can opt for the EPP product feeling secure that they are purchasing QUALITY and helping the environment.
